Travel Time! What to pack, Foley Event Center Edition
Posted January 29, 2020 by Stephanie Donald
So you’re all ready to come #playfoley! Now that the registration is complete and hotel reservations are made, it’s time to start packing. As the hustle begins to load the vehicle, allow us to offer a few suggestions on what to include in your suitcases. We want each visitor to have an enjoyable time during their stay, but also be aware of items that you should leave at home as they’re not allowed inside the complex. We’re excited to have you here!
What to bring
1. Layers
We encourage our visitors to dress in layers. Not everyone is comfortable at the same temperature. During sporting events we keep the temperature around 68 degrees inside the building. If you run hot or are participating in a sporting event then this will be the perfect temperature for shorts and short sleeves. Those who run cold or are sitting in the stands may get a bit chilly and want a jacket. Dressing in layers lets you adjust however you please.
2. Cash
We offer some of the most delicious concessions in the country but they are a cash only business. In addition, a number of our event holders charge an entry fee for spectators. Make sure you bring some cash with you as we do not have an ATM in the building.
3. Ear Protection
Ear protection. For those who are sensitive to loud noises we encourage ear plugs, especially for very young children. When you have multiple games going on in a single place, whistles or shouts from coaches and teammates can be overwhelming for some. If you are sensitive to noise, or are caring for a very young child, consider some ear protection.
What not to bring
1. Pets
We encourage all of our visitors to please leave their pets at home. We know your animal is likely kind and well trained but animals are a liability to the facility. While service animals wearing the required vests are more than welcome, we ask that all other pets are left at home because they cannot be brought into the facility and we definitely don’t want any animals spending the day in a hot vehicle. We cannot stress enough please leave your pets at home.
2. Cookers
The Foley Event Center is home to delicious concessions and we also allow outside food to be brought in and consumed in designated areas of the building. However, when bringing in food please limit it to items that are ready-to-eat. Cookers, grills, fryers, and the like are not allowed on the property so please leave them at home.
3. Chairs
The Foley Event Center has an array of seating options for event planners to choose from. The group planning your event has arranged for chairs or bleachers to be available for both spectators and participants. Please do not bring any chairs into the facility as they may scratch our state-of-the-art playing surface.
