Volleyball Camp Brings Holistic Approach

ACE Volleyball Camps are coming to the Foley Event Center July 5-8 with the intent of not only instructing players but teams as a whole.

Camp Director Pati Gandolfo said they will be holding a Positional Camp on July 5th and a Team Camp July 6 – 8. This allows for players to not only better themselves, but also to develop as a team. She said they will be expecting high school athletes from Mississippi, Georgia, Florida, Louisiana, and Alabama to attend. Gandolfo said part of the draw was the camp’s location.

“The camp is focused on teaching skills, tactics, and team chemistry throughout all sessions. The camp is right next to an amusement park, giving the teams an opportunity to combine volleyball training with entertainment,” Gandolfo explained. “Foley Event Center is a top-notch facility with an excellent staff. The City of Foley offers many great lodging, eateries, shopping, and entertainment options.”

Foley Sports Tourism Event Operations Coordinator Meagan McVicker said the staff sees the camp as an opportunity to help attendees really get to know all the city has to offer.

“We love to see players on gameday hyped up and excited, but camps offer a more laid-back atmosphere that gives participants more of a chance to take in their surroundings,” McVicker explained. “This is our opportunity to show teams some of Foley’s hidden gems so when they return for a hectic tournament weekend they’ll be able to hit up all their favorite spots.”

The Ace Volleyball Positional Camp runs the afternoon of July 5 and the Team Camp runs the afternoon of July 6 through the morning of July 8. For more information on this or any FST event visit our events page.
