For the first time ever the Pensacola Beach Blast is moving across the state line to Foley Event Center April 2 – 3 and it’s bringing hot competition with it.
The Blast, hosted by Panhandle Elite Volleyball Club, is now in its second year but this will be the first time the event has been in Foley. Tournament Director Ryan Davenport said even though the competition is rather new, it’s already drawing a following.
“We are expecting around 80 teams from Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, and Florida,” Davenport said. “We’re excited to host at the Foley Event Center and draw these teams from all over the Southeast.”
Foley Sports Tourism Event Operations Coordinator Chad Raybon said while the event is not something they’ve worked on before, how FST approaches it isn’t new.
“We’ve been fortunate to host an incredible amount of volleyball events which helps us understand what works and what doesn’t work,” Raybon explained. “We take that knowledge and pair it with what Panhandle Elite wants specifically for this competition. The result is a partnership that develops high-quality events, not just the first year but any time we welcome Panhandle Elite back into the Foley Event Center.”
The Pensacola Beach Blast runs all day both Saturday and Sunday and has a $5 charge for admission. For more information on this tournament or any FST event visit our events page.
