The Sun Belt Conference will be crowning their Women’s Volleyball Champion in Foley for the second year in a row. The competition will take place at the Foley Event Center November 18 – 21.
Last year’s tournament had teams face off in pool play before being seeded into a direct elimination bracket. This year everything is on the line every single game as the pool play has been removed and the entire tournament consists of direct elimination bracket play.
All twelve teams in the conference will face off, meaning it’s truly anyone’s title. Last year Texas State defeated Coastal Carolina in the Championship Final to win their third consecutive title. But prior to the Bobcats reign, the Chanticleers snagged two consecutive championships of their own.
Foley Sports Tourism Event Operations Coordinator Meagan McVicker said whether spectators come in person or watch all of the games streamed on ESPN+ the competition will definitely be one to watch.
“With so much on the line championship tournaments are always exciting but for us the Sun Belt Conference brings so much more,” McVicker said. “The conference is a great partner who, like any athlete, looks to up their game year after year and make the tournament even more memorable for its players. That’s our goal as well, no matter the outcome, make sure everyone looks back fondly on their time in Foley and looks forward to returning.”
The Sun Belt Women’s Volleyball Championship starts at noon on November 18. For a full schedule, visit the Sun Belt website. To purchase tickets for the games visit the ticketing website. For more information on this or any FST event visit our events page.
