The Storm Volleyball Club is bringing their annual Storm Invitational back to the Foley Event Center February 5 – 6 and adding an all-new College I.D. Camp the night before the tournament kicks off.
Tournament Director Nicole Keshock said the club has been hosting the Invitational for 14 years and it has earned a reputation in the volleyball world.
“Because of the local, regional and national reputation of Storm Volleyball Club, teams know that they are going to get a well-run event, with high-level competition and match guarantees,” Keshock explained. “Teams like to play similar competition and receive at least 5 matches in the weekend, and we guarantee that. We also like to honor those top players for the weekend and award All-Tournament team and team MVP honors.”
In addition to top-notch competition, a College I.D. Camp has been added this year and is scheduled for the evening of Friday, February 4. Keshock said that due to the COVID-19 pandemic college recruiting has changed and there is a greater focus on recruiting videos. She said that recruiting clips will be made for all athletes attending the camp that they can then send out to college coaches.
Foley Sports Tourism Event Operations Manager Angela Sullivan said it’s the continuing development of their events that makes working with Storm Volleyball so exciting.
“A huge part of our mission here at FST is growth,” Sullivan said. “We want to continue to top the experience visitors had the year before and keep them coming back. Storm Volleyball shares that vision so it’s always fun to see what they have in store next and do all we can to help them execute it.”
The Storm Invitational runs all day Saturday and Sunday. There is a $5 admission fee for those 13 and older. For more information on this or any FST event visit our events page.
