Snap Soccer is known for large tournaments, but they also want to be known for giving teams the chance to mesh without so much pressure. That’s exactly what the Snap Playdate will offer on March 23 at the Foley Sports Tourism Complex (FSTC).
Playdate Director, Zack Touchstone, said Playdates offer a chance for teams to find themselves by working together. They don’t keep score so there is no pressure to win.
“It’s a more relaxed environment,” Touchstone said. “Coaches can try out new formations and place kids in different positions.”
Snap hosts three Playdates every fall, as well as three each spring to focus on development and not competition.
FST Deputy Director, Don Dukemineer, said these are events that help the city further sports as a whole.
“What we do is entirely dependent on people being active in sports,” Dukemineer said. “We want to help kids find a passion in sports that will help them grow and develop as young people. That passion creates lasting memories that they will look back on for years to come.”
The Snap Soccer Playdate kicks off at 9 a.m. It is free and open to the public.
