While August has many people looking toward the school year starting again, for Foley Sports Tourism it’s about the return of soccer. Snap Soccer is prepping to kick off the season by hosting Playdates on August 14 and 21 at the FST Fields.
Playdate Director, Zack Touchstone said that while the teams that attend will be competing it will be far from the normal tournament atmosphere.
“It’s a more relaxed environment that allows teams to get great practice games prior to tournaments,” Touchstone explained. “Playdates allow for a good environment for players to get practice games in with their team. Players can play in new positions that they don’t normally try out.”
FST Event Operations Coordinator Chad Raybon said it’s not just the teams that get practice during Playdates.
“The more laid-back atmosphere Playdates present offer our staff opportunities to also try new things,” Raybon explained. “Whether that’s new protocols or adjusting the staff scheduling, we really have the opportunity to try out ways of making our events even better and then implementing what works during our larger tournaments.”
The Snap Soccer Playdates run all day August 14 and 21. For more information on this competition or any FST event visit our events page.
