Perdido Soccer Shootout Continues with Boys Weekend

Last weekend, the girls brought some fiery competition to Foley Sports Tourism (FST) during the Perdido Soccer Shootout. This weekend the boys are in town to try and top those amazing performances.

The girls half of the Shootout brought 80 teams to the area, and the boys weekend is anticipated to be even larger with 117 teams registered. The divisions will range from U8 to U19 with teams traveling from Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Georgia and Illinois.

Tournament Director Zack Touchstone said it wasn’t hard to see why so many teams are excited about coming to Foley.

“It’s the best complex in the area, in a great geographical location,” Touchstone said. “It’s near the beach, restaurants, and entertainment.”

Foley Director of Recreation and Sports Tourism David Thompson said working with Snap Soccer has really given the facility the chance to grow.

“Snap brings in a range of events throughout the year,” Thompson said. “It’s exciting to see how each one grows year to year as word gets out about our facility. It’s been humbling to hear visitors rave about everything from the flawless playing surface to the friendly staff. It helps our employees stay dedicated to a mission of providing the best possible customer service to each every person who walks through our gates.

The Perdido Soccer Shootout Boys weekend is open to the public. There will be a $5 charge for parking.
