Foley Sports Tourism will be drawing teams from far and wide for the NIRSA National Soccer Championships November 18 – 20 at the FST Fields.
NIRSA: Leaders in Collegiate Recreation are drawing mens and womens club soccer teams from all over the U.S. NIRSA Director of National Sport Programs, Valerie McCutchan said the event was first held in 1994 and is no stranger to Foley. FST held the Championships in 2016 and 2018. NIRSA was also supposed to compete in Foley in 2020 but the competition was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
McCutchan said the organization continues to return for the amazing location and top-notch facilities. She said this year there will be teams making a pretty long trek to compete.
“We do have the following teams attending- University of Oregon, Cal-Berkeley, UCLA, UCONN, and Boston College,” McCutchan said.
FST Event Operations Coordinator Chad Raybon said the event is the perfect blend of competition and fun.
“We love working with NIRSA because they are so organized and always thinking ahead,” Raybon said. “It’s easy to see that they are invested in making their events better and better each year and we want to assist in that mission in any way possible so their competitors will always have fond memories of their time in Foley.”
The NIRSA National Soccer Championships will run all day November 18 – 20. For more information about this or any FST event visit our events page.
