The Battle by the Bay lacrosse competition will draw both collegiate and high school players from around the region and beyond to Foley Sports Tourism February 19 – 20.
Tournament Director Chris Pierce said the event will offer boys and girls varsity and junior varsity divisions while, at the collegiate level, both men’s and women’s teams will be competing as well. He said the addition of the women’s collegiate division is new this year and overall registration numbers are up. Some of that growth may be due to the uniqueness of the event.
“It is the only college and high school combination event in the region,” Pierce said. “Foley is the perfect meeting point for many teams travelling from far away.”
FST Event Operations Coordinator Chad Raybon said this event will be enjoyable for the staff.
“We love hosting lacrosse,” Raybon said. “It’s nice to be able to accommodate a variety of sports at our facilities so things never get boring. On top of that this event feature both collegiate and high school levels which means there is always great competition going on.”
The Battle by the Bay runs all day Saturday and through midafternoon Sunday. There is a $5 charge for admission. For more information on this tournament or any FST event visit our events page.
