Lacrosse Returns to Foley

It’s been a while, but Foley Sports Tourism (FST) is excited to have lacrosse back at the Complex for the Lower Alabama Lacrosse Jubilee Jam March 16.

The event, now in its fourth year, will host boys and girls teams that range in ages from kindergarten through high school. Tournament Director, Allison Hixson, explains the Jubilee Jam has grown each year because it provides Gulf Coast teams a centralized location to compete and a destination to enjoy for the weekend.

“The Jubilee Jam has become the marque mid-season event for our conference,” Hixson said. “Hosting at the Foley Sports Tourism Complex (FSTC) helps make it more than a day of games, but a destination event due to the nearby shopping, hotels, and restaurants.  We are highlighting a family night at OWA for the evening before our event as another opportunity for team building and family fun.”

FST Event Operations Manager, Angela Sullivan, said the team is excited to have Lower Alabama Lacrosse back because of the focus on offering visitors the full Foley experience.

“The Jubilee Jam is truly an opportunity to let our city shine,” Sullivan said. “Being an emerging sport in our region, teams are looking for an opportunity to bond, and Foley allows them the chance to do so both on and off the field with world-class dining and attractions.”

The Lower Alabama Lacrosse Jubilee Jam runs from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. It is open to the public and there will be a $5 gate fee.
