Lacrosse Brings Jubilee to Foley

Foley Sports Tourism is ready to welcome back Lower Alabama Lacrosse with open arms this weekend as the Jubilee Jam hits the FST Fields May 15.

Tournament Director Allison Hixson said this is the fifth time they’ve hosted the event and it features boys and girls divisions in a range of age brackets. About 50 teams are expected to compete this year hailing from Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida.

Hixson said COVID and calendar issues have cause registration numbers to drop slightly but the Jubilee Jam is still one every team looks forward to attending.

“This tournament is one largest we are able to offer in our conference.  As an emerging sport in the area, our event gives teams from along the Gulf Coast fantastic facility and centralized location to host,” Hixson said. “Hosting at Foley Sports Tourism helps make it more than a day of games, but a destination event due to the nearby shopping, hotels, and restaurants.”

FST Event Operations Coordinator Chad Raybon said it’s not just the visitors looking forward to the Jubilee Jam.

“A lot of people think we are just a soccer facility, but that only scratches the surface of what we can do,” Raybon said. “We love hosting all kinds of different sports to keep things interesting and challenge ourselves to always look at everything we do with a fresh pair of eyes for each event. Lower Alabama Lacrosse is a wonderful partner who is always working with us to find ways to make every Jam better.”

The Jubilee Jam will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 15 and there will be a $5 charge for admission. For more information on this tournament or any FST event visit our events page.
