The Lower Alabama Volleyball Club returns to the Foley Event Center February 11 – 12 to host the Valentine’s Classic.
The competition will feature girls club teams from around the USA Volleyball Gulf Coast Region in age divisions ranging from 11 – 18. Tournament Director Kate Wood said, similar to the LAV Invitational, the club will host a college recruiting camp the evening of Friday February 10. All participants of the Valentine’s Classic are invited to attend the camp. While the format of the camp will be similar to the Invitational, players will still want to attend.
“We have eight different schools on hand to see our athletes,” Wood said.
Foley Sports Tourism Event Operations Coordinator Char Raybon said the Classic not only gives participants an all-around experience it also gives them more time in the city to experience all Foley has to offer.
“Not only are players getting a chance at exciting competition but they’re also learning how to extend their playing careers long term,” Raybon said. “If they keep playing we hope they keep retuning to compete here in Foley. Having them come in early for the recruitment camp allows them even more time to try all the dining and attractions we have to offer. The combination of great competition and fun off the court is what brings people back.”
The Valentine’s Classic runs all day both Saturday and Sunday and there is a $5 charge for admission. For more on this or ant FST event visit our events page.
