Big Wave of Soccer to Hit Foley

The Big Wave Classic is back at the FST Fields May 8 – 9 and it’s expected to draw more than 150 teams to Foley.

The event, a partnership between Gulf Breeze Futbol Academy and Snap Soccer, offers competition for boys and girls club soccer teams in age divisions ranging from U9-U19. Tournament Director Zack Touchstone said teams will be coming from Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, Louisiana, Florida, and Tennessee. He said part of the draw is how the city pairs top-notch facilities with plenty of fun.

“There are great fields and lots of them,” Touchstone said. “It gives us the ability to grow the event. Also, there’s a great staff and location. It helps in making the event run smooth and the location gives teams a multitude of options off the field.”

FST Field Superintendent Rhett Brown said the city will definitely be ready for visitors that weekend.

“Big Wave falls on Gulf Coast Hot Air Balloon Festival Weekend and we’re also hosting more than 400 pickleball players in the Foley Event Center,” Brown explained. “The entire city has been working together to adjust traffic patterns and schedule enough staff to that everyone will have the opportunity to experience all Foley has to offer.”

The Big Wave Classic will run all day both Saturday and Sunday and there is a $5 charge for admission. For more information on this tournament or any FST event visit our events page.
