Basketball returns to the Foley Event Center this weekend for the Southeast Adidas Gauntlet Championship June 12 – 13.
Tournament Director Richard Robinson said they are expecting about 90 team from around the region. The competition is open to both boys and girls teams ranging in age divisions from 5th grade through varsity.
Robinson said when he’s run other tournaments with Foley Sports Tourism this is the first time they’ve held the this one and Foley was the logical choice to host.
“Foley is a great tourism area,” Robinson said. “Teams can enjoy themselves on and off the court.”
FST Event Operations Manager Angie Sullivan said they are looking forward to having basketball back.
“We just held a basketball event on Memorial Day weekend and it went very well,” Sullivan said. “We can’t wait to get back in the groove.”
