A Storm of Volleyball is Rolling In

The Storm Invitational is rolling into the Foley Event Center Feb 1 – 2 and bringing some quality competition.

The competition will be held in Foley for the third year in a row, but it’s been running for a total of ten years. Tournament Director Nicole Keshock said it’s grown each year drawing more teams from around the Gulf Coast Region. This year they expect 110 teams ranging in age from 11 – 18.

Part of the reason for the growth is the location.

“Foley is a perfect place for our teams to get to from all different areas,” Keshock said. “Not only do we get to compete in a state of the art facility but the City of Foley has everything you could ask for with restaurants, shopping, and hotels.”

Foley Event Center employee Angela Foley said the staff is looking forward to having Storm back this year.

“We’ve really developed a solid relationship with Storm Volleyball,” Foley said. “Having the Storm Invitational return gives us the chance to work closely with them to find ways to make the tournaments better and better, to keep teams returning year after year.”

The Storm Invitational is open to the public and there will be a $5 admission charge.
